At least 14 people, including children, were today killed and six others injured in two separate incidents of avalanche in northwest Pakistan.
In the first incident, 10 people of a family were killed in Badran village of Upper Dir District bordering Bajaur tribal agency and Afghanistan.
Two rooms of their house were totally destroyed due to avalanche.

The local people, police, Pakistan Army and FC jawans took part in the rescue operation which continued for seven hours and recovered 10 bodies from the debris.
Since the area was too far and had mountainous terrain, the rescuers took two hours to reach the site on foot.
In a separate incident, four people, including three school children, were killed when a huge rock rolled down on a shop in Batal area, Osherai Darra.
The children were having their meal at the shop near their school.
