14 policemen injured, 4 people arrested

Police say 14 officers received minor injuries and four people arrested after the Bundesliga match between Hannover and Eintracht Braunschweig.

The derby between the bitter rivals ended in a 0-0 draw yesterday and police used water cannons to prevent rowdy fans from storming the stadium.

After the match, police used pepper spray and batons against troublemaking fans. A number of fans were also injured but police could not give an estimate of how many because those involved did not seek help out of fear of being detained.

About 1,000 police officers were on duty for the match.
