15 babies die in Malda hospital

Fifteen babies, who were

admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition, have died, officials said today.

Hospital superintendent M Rashid said all the babies were referred to them in a very critical condition and were underweight besides suffering from breathing problems.

In the last 24 hours alone, 7 babies have died, he said.

The cases were referred from various districts like Uttar Dinajpur, Murshidabad and neighbouring states like Bihar and Jharkhand.
