15 million babies are not able to begin breastfeeding within one hour of birth: report

Out of 26 million babies born in a year, about 15 million are not able to begin breast feeding within one hour of birth which is very crucial in providing immunity to infants, according to a new report.

Provision of mother's milk to babies within one hour of birth is referred to as "early initiation of breastfeeding" and ensures that the receives colostrum which is rich in protective factors.
