15-year-old boy drowned in river

A 15-year-old boy drowned in a river while taking bath along with his friends at a village near here today, police said.

Jayakumar had gone to his relative's house at Elumichangapalayam yesterday. The boy who went to Arisilaru this afternoon for a bath with his friends drowned as he did not know swimming, they said.

Police who rushed to the spot, on a complaint by the relative, recovered the body and sent it for post mortem.
