151 kg Ganja seized in Madurai district

Nearly 151 kg of Ganja meant to be smuggled to Kerala was seized near Usilampatti here today and two persons arrested in this connection, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted vehicle checks in Usilampatti area and intercepted a car, in which they found 151 kg of ganja worth Rs 15 lakhs, and seized it, they said adding the accused had confessed that the drug was being smuggled to Kerala from Andhra pradesh.

Further investigation is on, police said.
