16-year-old girl raped by youth

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Joli village in the district, police said today.

The Dalit girl had gone to collect water from a public handpump yesterday when the youth took her nearby on some pretext and raped her, they said.

A complaint has been lodged by the father of the girl against the youth, who is absconding.

The girl has been sent for medical examination, police added.
