17 killed, 14 hurt in bus-container collision

Seventeen persons were today killed and 14 others injured in a bus-container collision in Jalgaon district of north Maharashtra, police said.

The accident took place on Dhule-Chalisgaon road near the Chinchgavhan crossing when the state transport bus collided head-on with the container truck, a Jalgaon police official told PTI over phone.

The injured persons were shifted to a hospital in Dhule, the official said. Further details are awaited.
