17-yr-old killed in road accident

A 17-year-old boy died after being hit by a vehicle today in central Delhi's IP Estate, following which the accused driver was arrested, the police said.

The accident occurred when the victim, Rahul, was crossing a road opposite to a eye hospital. He had come to Delhi two days ago, they said.

The car belongs to a Karkardooma-based chartered accountant. His driver, Pradeep, was driving the vehicle, the police said.

The car was going from Karkardooma towards Barakhamba, they said.

Rahul was rushed to hospital where he was declared "brought dead" by doctors. Pradeep was arrested by the police with the help of locals, the police said.
