An 18-year-old boy allegedly killed his father over a petty domestic issue, police said today.
The boy, a college student and a resident of Ram Rahim Apartments of Om Nagar locality in Vasai (West) town of Thane, was annoyed since sometime over the frequent quarrel his parents had at home over petty issues.
Yesterday afternoon, when his parents picked up a fight again, the boy, in a fit of anger, attacked his father - Mukesh R Kumawat (49) - with a sickle repeatedly, killing him on the spot, assistant police inspector D B Jadhav of Manickpur police station said.

The boy was arrested late in the evening and was charged under section 302 (murder) of the IPC, he said.
The body was sent for postmortem, police said, adding that further investigation in the case was on.
