185 charas seized in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force today arrested two persons and seized nearly 185 kilograms of 'charas' from a truck in Sandil area here, the police said.

On a tip-off, the STF team from Bareilly stopped the truck coming from Maharajganj, located on the Indo-Nepal border, at Sarai Makhrurpur, Additional Superintendent of Police (East Hardoi) Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said.

They found the contraband, worth Rs 2 crore, kept under the driver's seat, the officer said.

One person managed to escape, he said.
