2 Afghan nationals detained for smuggling gold biscuits

Two Afghan nationals were detained at Sanganer airport here for allegedly smuggling over 2 kg gold into India.

Following a tip off, two passengers flying from Abu Dabhi on a Etihad Airways flight were detained and frisked here.

"Gold biscuits weighing over two kg, which they had concealed in shoes, recovered from them," customs department officials said.

"The passengers, both Afghan nationals, are being quizzed," they said.
