A huge cache of cannabis worth over Rs 1 crore was seized from two trucks in separate operations in Meghalaya and Assam, officials said today.
Acting on a tip off, Customs sleuths intercepted a truck near Diengpasoh toll gate at Shillong bypass and seized 784 kg of cannabis worth Rs 49.24 lakh, officials said.
The driver was arrested and search operation has been launched to nab others involved in the smuggling, they said.
In another incident, 1,500 kg of cannabis worth over Rs 1 crore was seized from a truck at Silchar, officials said.
The driver has been arrested and produced in a Silchar Court.
