Two persons were today booked for allegedly staging a fake robbery in Kavi Nagar area here, police said today.
Shobhit Gupta, a stationary trader and a resident of Panchvati colony, with his friend Swastik planned a fake robbery. Gupta fired two shots in his legs and told police that robbers looted Rs 18 lakh from him, SHO Ashok Sisodia said.
However, investigations revealed loopholes in the story and on sustained interrogation Shobhit confessed to his crime, police said.
The duo have been arrested and a case was registered against them under relevant sections of the IPC.
