2 cops injured in attack by stone-pelter

Two policemen were attacked and injured today when they went to arrest a "notorious stone-pelter" in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

A police team was deputed to arrest "notorious stone-pelter" Nadeem Ahmad of Old Town Baramulla, a police spokesman said here.

He said when the police team approached to arrest Ahmad, he attacked them with an iron weight and injured two constables.

One of the constables was seriously injured and has been referred to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Soura for further treatment, the spokesman added.
