2 CRPF constables killed in road accident

Two CRPF constables were today killed and two others injured when convoy of a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind met with a road accident on NH-1 near Murthal, police said.

According to police spokesperson Jagjit Singh, Maulana Mahmood Madani was enroute to Shamli from Delhi when the pilot jeep of the convoy collided with a truck carrying potatoes following which the driver of the jeep lost control and it overturned.

Madani, leader and executive member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind was safe in the incident that took place this morning, Singh said.

The deceased constables have been identified as Isarfil and Vanit Chauhan while Pawan Kumar and Mohammed Jodin were seriously injured in the mishap.
 

The injured were rushed to a local hospital and have been referred to AIIMS in the national capital, Singh said.

Bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said, adding, a case has been registered and investigation is on.
