2 die in armed clash

between two groups at Laudaha in Burdwan district of Asansol sub-division today possibly over control of illegal coal mines in the belt.

Police said Laltu Seikh and Seikh Montu died during the armed clash.

Both have criminal records, police said.

Local people said turf wars between the two factions over pilferage of coals from abandoned mines were regular features in the area.

Five persns have been named in the FIR in connection with the incident.
