2 dozen shops gutted in fire on Diwali night in Jalandhar

More than two dozen shops were gutted on Diwali night after a fire broke out in Sudama market near Jyoti Chowk here, a fire department official said today.

No casualty was reported in the fire, the official said.

The fire damaged several shops, he said, adding that firefighters had to struggle for four hours to control it.

The cause of the fire was still not known.
