2 drown in boat tragedy in Bihar

A woman and a minor girl drowned when a boat, on which they were travelling, capsized in Bagmati river in Bihar's Samastipur district today, police said.

The incident occurred when the boat carrying 30 people on way to a fair Mananpur from m Bikrampatti village capsized midstream, (rpt) District Magistrate M Ramachandrudu (rpt) said.

Twenty-eight people swam to safety but two identified as Rama Devi (55) and Puja Kumari(5) drowned, he said, adding that the bodies were recovered and sent for post mortem.
