2 drown in river Ganga in UP

Two women of a family drowned in river Ganga this morning while taking a holy dip near Durga Devi temple on Ram Navami, police said.

The incident took place in Bhuval Chapra village when the deceased Gayatri Devi (32) and Poonam (16) accidentally went on the deeper side of the river, they said.

According to police, Gayatri's body has been found while a hunt was on to search the minor's body.
