Two persons were killed and a child injured when a wall collapsed on the roof of the victims' house in Lama Villa area of the city due to incessant rainfall today, police said.
The incident took place at around 1 pm when a retaining wall collapsed on the rooftop and wall of the house of B Lama where tenants were staying, police said.
Two of a family identified as Minu Thapa (50) and Karuna Shresta (25) died on the spot while five year-old Aditya Shresta escaped with only injuries, East Khasi Hills district SP (City) Vivek Syiem said.
The child who was seriously injured, has been shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment, he said.
