Two persons were killed and another injured after they were hit by a pick-up van in Bihar's Katihar district, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday night on Kursela-Dhamdaha road at Chandpur village under the jurisdiction of Kursela police station, the police said.
The pick-up van, which was carrying coal, hit the three persons who were sitting by the side of the road, injuring them, the station house officer (SHO) of Kursela police station, Vinod Kumar, said.
All the three were admitted to Katihar Medical College and Hospital where two of them died, he said.
The third person is undergoing treatment at the hospital, the SHO said.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, he added.
The pick-up van has been seized but its driver managed to escape, he said.
