2 killed, 4 injured in road accident in UP

Two people were killed and four others, including a Samajwadi Party leader, were today injured when a sugarcane-laden truck overturned and hit the SUV in which they were travelling, near Munderwa police chowki, police said.

P K Rai, who enjoys minister of state status in Uttar Pradesh government, his wife, gunner and driver were injured and referred to SGPGI Lucknow while Arvind Kumar (38) and Sonu (25) travelling with him were killed on the spot, they said.

A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation was on, they said.
