2 killed after boat capsizes at Nepal-India border

At least two persons were killed and 15 others reported missing after an overloaded boat capsized in a river along the Nepal-India border today.

The boat carrying 90 people onboard capsized in the Saptakoshi River in Sunsari district. The ill-fated boat was heading for Sombare Ghat of Udayapur district from Chatara.

According to the police five persons were rescued from the accident site.

According to the boat might have overturned as the passengers scrambled to get off the boat while it was close to the shore.

Locals, security personnel of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been involved in the rescue of the missing passengers.
