Two people were today killed while two others were seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a landslide on the Jammu- Srinagar national highway near here, a police official said.
"The vehicle was hit by a massive landslide on the Jammu- Srinagar national highway near here and it fell into a deep gorge," the officer said.
He said one body has been recovered whereas the body of the second person was still buried under the debris.
"One body has been found while the other is still trapped under the debris. Two injured were also rescued from the ill- fated vehicle," he said.
He said the condition of the two injured was stated to be critical.
Following the landslide, the Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for the vehicular traffic.
"The highway has been closed for vehicular traffic, we have summoned the team to clear the debris from the road," he said.
