2 killed in twin road mishaps in Kanpur

Two persons, including a nine-year-old boy, were killed and a woman was injured in separate road accidents here, police said today.

The first incident took place at Panki roundabout here last night when a truck hit a bike. Deepak (45) was going on his bike with his mother Rani (70) when the truck hit them.

The duo were taken to a hospital where Deepak died while his mother is in a critical condition.

In another incident, a nine-year-old Class III student was killed after he was hit by a speeding car in Nawabganj area. The student was on his way to meet his grandmother residing in a nearby place when the car hit him. He was rushed to a hospital where he died, they said.
 

In both the incidents, the drivers managed to flee. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and investigations have been initiated.
