Two more bodies were recovered from the fishing trawler M V Suryanarayan today, which was untraced after it was caught in a storm near the Sagar Islands in Bay of Bengal on Sunday, pushing the toll to six.

Sunderbans Development Minister Manturam Pakhira said a total of six bodies were found till today and the search for one more missing fisherman was still on.

Seven fishermen, all reported to be on-board the ill-fated trawler, had been missing since Sunday last and a multi-pronged search was launched by the Coastguard helicopter and trawlers for them.

The six bodies have been identified by the deceased's family and have been cremated.

All of them were residents of Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas and had gone to the sea about a fortnight ago to catch Hilsa fish, the Minister said.

Besides Pakhira, West Bengal Fisheries Minister Chandranath Sinha was also camping at the spot.

Another missing trawler 'Maharudra' was also traced at the same spot near Bakkhali but fisheries department officials had confirmed that no bodies were stuck in it.
