2 policemen caught taking bribe in Kota

A (SI) and an (ASI) were arrested for taking bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant in Kota, today, an said.

The accused were identified as Sharma, a resident of Kherthal area in district, and Sub-inspector Rafiquddin, a resident of Keshavpura area in Kota. Both were posted in station.

The two police officials had demanded Rs 15,000 for cooperating in a case lodged by one Amralal Gujar, a resident of Borawas area in Kota, of police (ASP), ACB, Baran, said.

When Gujar expressed his inability to pay such a huge amount, the accused asked for Rs 8,000.

The complainant reported the matter to ACB, Baran, on Sunday. Following which, the verification of the complainant was carried out.

SI was arrested today noon at (MBS), when he was accepting the bribe amount of Rs 8,000, said the ASP, adding that was nabbed from Kota district court premises.

The accused will be produced before the in Kota on Tuesday, he added.
