2 policemen caught taking bribe in Kota

A sub-inspector (SI) and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) were arrested for taking bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant in Kota, today, an official said.

The accused were identified as Sub-inspector Suresh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Kherthal area in Alwar district, and assistant Sub-inspector Rafiquddin, a resident of Keshavpura area in Kota. Both were posted in R K Puram police station.

The two police officials had demanded Rs 15,000 for cooperating in a case lodged by one Amralal Gujar, a resident of Borawas area in Kota, additional superintendent of police (ASP), ACB, Baran, Rajendra Singh Gogawat said.

When Gujar expressed his inability to pay such a huge amount, the accused asked for Rs 8,000.

 

The complainant reported the matter to ACB, Baran, on Sunday. Following which, the verification of the complainant was carried out.

SI Suresh Kumar was arrested today noon at Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital (MBS), when he was accepting the bribe amount of Rs 8,000, said the ASP, adding that ASI Rafiquddin was nabbed from Kota district court premises.

The accused will be produced before the ACB court in Kota on Tuesday, he added.
