2 snatchers held

Two bike-borne snatchers

were assaulted and handed over to police by locals at Dhulagarh in Howrah district today.

Police said the two snatchers took away Rs 50,000 in cash from a businessman as he came out from a bank.

As the businessman gave them a chase and overtook them by his two-wheeler, a mob gathered at the spot and beat up the two snatchers.

The entire cash was then given back to the businessman.

They were then handed over to the police.
