2 students of engineering college arrested for ragging junior

The police today arrested two students of a private engineering college here for allegedly ragging a first year student of institute.

The two arrested students were identified as Soven Singh Bhoi and Banasankar Das, police said adding that action was taken against them based on an FIR lodged at Chandrasekharpur Police Station.

The duo had allegedly ragged the first year student and attacked him with a broken glass in the college premises yesterday, the police said.

"A case has been registered following the incident. We have arrested two students and they are being interrogated. Strict action will be taken against those responsible," said Satyabrata Bhoi, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police.
