Security forces gunned down two suspected NSCN(IM) cadres in an encounter at Thinsa village in troubled Tirap district this evening, the police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the men in uniform cordoned off the area and shot the rebels dead during an encounter at around 7.30 PM at Thinsa, about 11 km from the district headquarter Khonsa.
One AK-56 rifle with two magazines and 50 rounds of ammunition, one M-16 rifle with a magazine and 30 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the person of the cadres, the police said.
The identity of the deceased were yet to be known.
