2 women commit suicide in separate incidents in J&K

Two women allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Anantnag and Kupwara districts of Kashmir Valley, police said today.

The women, hailing from Chaklipora-Achabal in south Kashmir's Anantnag and Pringroo-Handwara in northern Kupwara, consumed some poisonous substance at their respective residences and later died in the hospital yesterday, a police spokesman said.

He said the motive behind their taking such an extreme step was not known immediately.

Separate cases have been registered in the two incidents, the spokesperson said.
