Two youths were booked for allegedly raping a minor at the Soos village here in the district, police said today.
The incident happened last evening, when the accused, both their early 20s, raped a 16-year-old girl while she was on her way back home after visiting a gurdawara, they said.
The victim in her complaint alleged that the two youths, identified as Kinda and Sardool, were on a motorcycle on the roadside. When she reached closer, Kinda allegedly caught hold of her and stuffed her mouth with a cloth and both took her to a nearby sugarcane field and raped her, police said, adding that the miscreants after the act, fled on their motorcycle.
The medical examination of the girl confirmed rape, they said, adding that both the accused were absconding.
