20-year-old male elephant electrocuted in Kerala

A 20-year-old male elephant was found electrocuted near Tirunelli in North Wayanad Forest Division today, forest officials said.

The officials suspect the pachyderm may have come into contact witha live wire nearby while trying to break branch of a tree inside the forest at Appapara last night.

A team of forest personnel on patrol found the elephant's body this morning.
