20-yr-old girl among 5 'dreaded' Naxals surrender in Maha

A 20-year-old girl was among five "dreaded" Naxals, who collectively carried a cash reward of Rs 12 lakh on their heads, surrendered before the authorities in Gadchiroli in Maharashtra, police said today.

The ultras, who turned themselves in recently, were identified as Karan alias Dulsa Peka Naraote (23) from Etapalli, Sharda Rina Wate Pungatai (20), Darju Kulla Usendi (23), Raiji Nallsu Gawde (30) and Pravin Vilas Kulla (30), Gadchiroli Police said in a release.

They were facing a number of criminal offences of murder, arson, illegal possession of arms and encounter with police in the past, it added.
