A 22-year-old man died due to cold in Barabanki district even as dense fog engulfed most places in the state.
Suraj died due to cold in Rauni village in Haidergarh area yesterday, police said, adding his body has been sent for postmortem.
The MET department said moderate to dense fog engulfed most places in the state affecting normal life.
Churk in Sonbhadra district was the coldest with minimum temperature settling at 8.8 degrees Celsius.
The MET department has forecast dry weather with shallow to moderate fog at most places during mornings and nights in the state.
