A 23-year-old youth, who was allegedly involved in gangster activities and had attacked a police team in the city during a search operation, had been arrested from Haryana.
The accused, Shaukat, who hails from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Mewat in Haryana yesterday by a team of Delhi Police.
Shaukat was involved in 10 cases of theft, gangsters activities and armed robberies in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi, police said.
He along with his other associates had also allegedly attacked a police team in South Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur area on April 29 when it tried to stop a truck they were travelling in for a search.
When the police team had tried to search them, Shaukat and others travelling in a truck escaped after hitting the police's vehicle.
When police chased them, they pelted stones and fled.
During interrogation, Shaukat gave the names of his ten associates.
