27-year-old found dead; suicide suspected

A 27-year-old man allegedly committed suicide today by shooting himself with a rifle in the Thakrakor area of Reasi district, a police officer said.

He said, the victim, identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Matta village in the district was found dead inside his house.

"He was hit by a bullet from a country-made rifle that was lying next to the body", he said.

The officer said as per initial investigations it appears to be a case of suicide but other angles too cannot be ignored.

"A case has been registered and investigation has started in this regard", he said.
