276 gm of heroin seized

department's Anti Narcotic Squad with the help of local members of civil societies seized 276 gm of heroin at three different places in Aizawl today, department spokeperson said.

The spokesperson said that the contraband worth around Rupees ten lakh in the local market was reportedly smuggled from neighbouring Myanmar via the border district of Champhai.

Five persons, including one Myanmarese national, were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
