3 arrested, 250 cartons of illegal liquor seized in UP

Three persons have been arrested and 250 cartons of illegal liquor smuggled from Haryana were seized during a raid at two places in this district, an excise official said today.

Excise officials raided Sanjak and Sarnawli villages last evening and seized 250 cartons of liquor which was smuggled from Haryana, District Excise Officer Karjnendra Singh said.

Police have registered cases against six accused, of which three, identified as Farman, Shokin and Tehsin, have been arrested, he said, adding the rest are absconding.
