3 children drown in the Ganga while taking bath

Three children today drowned in the river Ganga while taking bath, police said.

They said the incident took place under Shivkuti police station area of the city when a group of children and teenagers, all residents of neighbouring localities, went for a dip in the river.

A strong current swept them away following which divers were pressed into service but they could not trace the children.

Their bodies were fished out after a couple of hours, police said.
