3 held for smuggling Rs 1.75 cr worth gold

Three persons were today held at the airport here for allegedly smuggling five kg gold valued at around Rs 1.75 crore.

Customs officials searched them on suspicion when they returned from Bangkok early this morning and seized the gold, airport sources said.

Three kg of yellow metal was recovered from their baggage, while the rest was found concealed in their bodies, they added.
