3 held with 2,400 lt molasses for making country liquor

Three persons were today arrested with 2,400 litre of illegal molasses meant for making country liquor in Varanasi district, police said.

Awadh Bihari, Narendra Singh and Guddu were arrested on a tip off from Chetganj area of Varanasi with 10 drums of illegal molasses, Special Task Force IG, Ashish Gupta said here.

During interrogation, they disclosed that from 2,400 litre molasses, about 12,500 litre of country liquor worth about Rs 16 lakh could be prepared.
