3 killed as chicken-laden van hits roadside tree

Three persons were killed today when a chicken-laden van in which they were travelling dashed against a roadside tree near Kinathukadavu in the district.

The van driver lost control of the vehicle near Kinathukadavu, about 20 km from here, resulting in the mishap, police said.

One of the occupants of the van was killed on the spot while the driver and another person died on way to hospital.
