3 killed due to explosion in firecracker warehouse in China

Three persons were today killed and over a dozen others injured when a firecracker warehouse exploded in north China's Hebei Province.

The accident occurred in Ningjin County this morning, the government said.

The explosion shattered nearly all the glass windows at a residential building close to the factory.

A flour factory located about one kilometre away from the warehouse also had its windows broken, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The explosion injured more than a dozen people.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the explosion, it said.
