3 killed in lightning strikes in Odisha

Three persons were killed and two others injured when lightning struck them at two villages in Odisha's Balasore district today.

Two persons were killed and another injured at Angula village, while one person was killed in lightning strike at nearby Jaganathpur village, a police officer said.

Another person was injured in Basta area, the officer said.

The mishap occurred while all of them were engaged in sowing paddy plant in field, they said.

The deceased were identified as Ajay Jena and Padmalochan Jena of Angula village and Gajendra Patra of Jaganathpure.
