3 killed in stone quarry blast in Jharkhand

At least three people died in an explosion at a stone quarry in Jharkhand's Dumka district, police said today.

The three victims were injured critically and rushed to Rampurhat hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, said Akhilesh Kumar Jha, DIG of Police, Santhal Parganas.

Following the tragic incident, the district mining officer has been asked to probe whether the quarry, situated in Kulkulidangal village was legal or not, he said.

Meanwhile, a team of police officers are on their way to the accident spot for further investigations.
