3 liquor sumgglers arrested by Faridabad police

Faridabad police today arrested three persons of a gang involved in liquor smuggling

Acting on a tip-off that some persons are trying to smuggle illicit liquor into Uttar Pradesh from Faridabad, a team of crime branch reached Shahjahanpur Rakba village and impounded three vehicles in which liquor was being loaded, police said.

Also, illicit liquor that could not be loaded in the vehicle was found lying in the fields and was seized by the police party, they said.

A total of 306 boxes of foreign liquor and 79 boxes of beer were recovered from the spot.

In the raid, police nabbed Jitendra, resident of Rajiv Nagar here. However, three members of the gang managed to escape in a vehicle with illegal arms in it, after which information was received that two out of them were at Fazzipur village, police said.
 

The police team raided the spot and nabbed the two men, identified as Adesh, resident of Dankaur in Uttar Pradesh and Lala alias Surendra, resident of district Gautam Buddh Nagar.

A rifle of .315 bore and three live cartridges were recovered from the duo, police said.

The third accused was identified as Shyopal, also resident of Dankaur. The police raided his residence but could not nab the culprit.

The arrested three accused were produced in a court and were remanded to police custody. All the three have been booked under provisions of excise act, they added.
