3 minor siblings killed as water tank collapses in UP

Three minor siblings were killed today and one other injured when a newly constructed overhead water tank collapsed at a brick kiln in Pure Dalai village under Musafirkhana police station here, police said.

The children were playing near the water tank when it collapsed, Amethi SP, Hira Lal said.

The debris of the tank, which was constructed temporarily for the labourers staying in the kiln, hit the children along with water, he said.

The siblings Vinod Kumar (15), Ragini (7) and Rajani (4) died on the spot while a girl Somwati, aged about eight years, was injured in the incident, Lal said.
 

An FIR has been lodged against the owner of the brick kiln, police said, adding the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
