3 NSLA militants apprehended

Three National Santhal Liberation Army (NSLA) militants, including a platoon commander, were today apprehended by a team of army and police from Kashiabari village in Kokrajhar district, a Defence Spokesman said.

The apprehended persons included Sonyram Soren considered as the right hand of NSLA Area Commander of Kashiabari and platoon secretary Framjeet alias Dadiya, the spokesman said.

Framjeet's arrest is expected to provide information about other NSLA cadres who are on the run from security forces, he said.

A 7.62 mm SLR rifle with magazine, 20 cartridges of 7.62 mm ammunition, two country-made pistols, one hand grenade were recovered from them, he said.
